What is more satisfying than picking an apple right from a tree and taking a bite? Mother Earth is such a wonderful provider. Mother Earth is the source of life. Mother Earth is bountiful.
So in this time of rising costs of food, in a neighborhood that already experiences food insecurity, we decided to honor Mother Earth by allowing her to do what she loves to do, provide us with food. Today for Earth Day we will plant fruit trees at the Community House and at the Center for Creative Learning.
We selected five trees to plant, a peach, pear, apple, plum and cherry tree. Now comes the fun part, digging in the mud. It rained all morning so it should be lots of fun to dig our holes for the amazing living beings, trees.
