Memories of Melody

I don't even know where to start.  There are so many awesome memories of our friend Melody.  Side splitting stories that are sure to make you chuckle even in the most dire times.

The one thing I loved about Melody was her innocence.  She saw the world through a different lens and at times that lens might put you in the dog house.  Believe me I have been there on multiple occasion.

Melody was very generous.  She especially liked giving people food.  I remember when we had the Fruit stand, and Melody would bring sacks of fruit to people at the bus stop.  She would bring her extra tater-tots down the street to Chris, our neighbor who worked with cars and built motorized bicycles. She brought me many pies and cakes, in which she put protein powder.  She would always ensure me that the cake was healthy with "Nourishing Protein" in it.

But Melody sometimes did things you didn't like so much.  Like taking the pickles out of the giant community jar with her bare hands, or sometimes she would help herself to food that wasn't meant for her.

I remember once I asked Melody not to take the cheese that was for the afterschool programming. She did not like to be corrected or have anything pointed out that she might have done wrong, and so she denied taking any of the cheese. Even though I told her it was alright, and she wasn't in trouble or anything, she insisted she hadn't taken it.  I looked at the label, same as ours, "not for resale".  I examined the evidence, and I came to the conclusion, that yes, it was cheese from the programming.

Oh No!  Melody did not like that.  For the next month she resigned from the Community House, she gave me the key back, and stopped selling sodas out of her store.  Then I started opening my mailbox to find cheese. She bought endless amounts of cheese that month, until finally I was forgiven and she came back to the Miam Kat Band.

Pretty much everyone experienced Melody's temper.  But, we still loved her UNCONDITIONALLY, and usually she would forget all the drama and come back for more fun at the Art Garage.

So come on down and join us at the New Art Garage as we Celebrate Melody's Wonderful Life with Us.
